OLD friends will help Sheffield owner Neil Machin celebrate his 20th anniversary tonight as his side take on Scunthorpe at Owlerton (7.45).
Machin has invited a host of guests to join him for dinner in the Panorama Restaurant while enjoying the on track action, which promises to be a feast of racing.
He said: “I have invited a lot of people who I have worked with over the years. Chris Morton, Peter Collins, Colin Pratt, The Boocock Family, Sean Wilson, Andre Compton, Garry Stead, James Birkinshaw, Ricky Ashworth and Carl Stonehewer are amongst those invited.
“I could have invited hundreds but wanted to spend the evening with people who have made my 20 years in the sport so special.
“We have a grudge match on the track and it wouldn’t be a good way to celebrate 20 years by losing, so the boys need to do the business.”
Machin revealed that Owlerton TV screens will be showing live coverage of the Speedway World Cup Race-Off, from Sweden.
