Classy Kyle Howarth insists Sheffield can win the battle of the Tigers and reach the Premier League Grand Final.
Howarth, who has hit top form at the right time in the top two levels of the sport, says the return of Josh Bates and a wise selection of guest riders can help the Owlerton men edge out Glasgow. The first leg is next Thursday, October 13, with the return in Scotland on Sunday, October 16.
Howarth said: “We have nothing to fear after what happened on Sunday at Newcastle, I think that surprised everyone.
“I turned round to Booey (Eric Boocock) and asked him what the score was at one stage and realised we were well ahead on aggregate and that was the moment we all started to believe we could do it.
“If we can do something similar against Glasgow you never know what can happen. If we can take a useful lead from our place next Thursday we’ll be looking for a repeat of the Newcastle meeting on the Sunday!
“I’m feeling great, everything is going well and I’m excited about the play-offs.”
Meanwhile Howarth is on the verge of striking gold in the Elite League with Wolverhampton.
He top scored with 12+1 as the West Midlands side beat Belle Vue by 18-points in the first leg of the Grand Final.
The decider is tonight in Manchester with Howarth looking to play a key role for Wolves, who last won the title in 2009.
“It would be a dream come true to win the Elite League with Wolverhampton then go for the double with Sheffield!”
