Sheffield Tigers are celebrating their longest running team sponsorship deal.
Sheffield Window Centre are staying on board for a 10th successive season thanks to the continued support of owner Ian Hunter.
Hunter first joined forces with Tigers in 2007 having previously been a rider sponsor. Sheffield co-promoter Damien Bates says having their support is a massive shot in the arm.
“He’s been a great supporter of Sheffield Speedway and, apart from sponsorship, we also value his input,” said Bates. “To have a sponsor for ten years gives us a big element of stability especially when we are trying to develop a title-winning team. Ian has been an important part of this club for a long time.”
“Everything’s knitting together well, the team is looking strong and we can’t wait for March to come around,” said Bates. “A few of our riders have headed off to Australia for a bit of warm weather, Simon Stead, Jason Garrity and Josh Bates are out there now, and there seems to be a mood of optimism.
“It’s been a long time since Sheffield won any serious silverware and we’re determined to correct that. We’ve had two years of progress and it’s time to take it a step further, I just hope that we manage to steer clear of injuries.”
