NEIL Machin reckons Sunday’s Premier League Rider’s Championship could be an absolute classic as riders battle for the league’s richest prize.
Owlerton again plays host to the biggest Premier League meeting of the year, where the top 16 riders battle it out for a prize unrivalled at this level.
Tigers chief Machin believes the meeting could be one of the best.
He said: “The PLRC is always an outstanding occasion but this year I think it is as open as it has ever been in terms of who will come out on top.
“There are so many riders who have enjoyed excellent season’s and who will want to top that off by winning the biggest individual prize in the league, as well as the richest prize financially.
“The top prize is a brand new JAWA speedway bike and that alone is worth over £5000, if not more. At this level of racing that sort of prize is huge, and that is one of the reasons why it means so much to the riders.
“This really is the one all the riders want to win; it carries great prestige, it singles you out as the best rider in the entire league and that is something that every rider wants.
“There are going to be 16 guys out there who all want desperately to beat each other to the title and that will make for great racing.”
Tigers are represented by Richard Hall who faced a mad dash back to Owlerton from the Czech Republic where he is racing on Saturday afternoon.
