Former favouite Richard Hall is aiming to recapture his top form after completing a sensational return to Sheffield.
Hall, who spent six seasons with the Tigers and established himself as something of an Owlerton expert, has not ridden for the club since 2013.
He has endured a difficult spell since his departure, but he has now been given a dramatic recall on a bargain 4.04 average.
The all-action racer says he jumped at the chance to pull on Sheffield colours once again and work alongside the club’s new management for the first time.
He is confident the move can see him return to the form which saw him establish himself as a reliable heat-leader at Premier League level.
And with lofty expectations heading into the 2016 campaign, he is desperate to be part of a title-chasing Tigers side.
“I’m really pleased to be back at Sheffield and it’s a great opportunity for me,” said Hall.
“I can’t wait to work with the new management for the first time, there are lots of positive vibes coming out of the club at the moment and I’m delighted to have the chance to be a part of that.
“I’ve missed riding at Owlerton, it’s one of my favourite tracks and Sheffield is a club I’ve always enjoyed riding for so the chance to come back is a big boost.
“I’m hoping I can get back to riding at the level I know I’m capable at.
“It’s been a tough couple of years, but fingers crossed going back to Sheffield will be what I need to get me back on track again.
“I know I’m a much better rider than my average suggests, so there is a lot of room for improvement there and I’m looking to put a couple of points on my average at least.
“Sheffield did really well last season and got to the play-offs even with their injuries, so we’ve got to be looking to try and go all the way this time.
“It’s going to be tough but everyone is desperate to try and win the league, that’s the aim and hopefully I can have a really good season to help us be in with a good chance of doing it.”
