SHEFFIELD TIGERS: Neil Machin wary of Lions’ danger

TIGERS aim to build on their impressive win over Ipswich last week against Leicester in more Premier League action at Owlerton tonight (7.45).

The city men gave a solid all-round display in seeing off the Suffolk outfit and will need something similar against a powerhouse Lions side.

Club owner Neil Machin knows his side need another big performance.

He said: “Their standing in the table suggests another tough fixture is in prospect tonight, you don’t get to second without being a very capable team.

“The Leicester top three of Magnus Karlsson, Kauko Nieminen and Lasse Bjerre are all excellent at Owlerton and will trouble our own top end, while Jan Graversen and Linus Eklof can both beat anyone on their day and will provide good support.

Sheffield have also revealed they will be supporting the charity Action for Children this evening, the official charity of British Speedway.

Local children’s hospice Bluebell Wood will hold a bucket collection and Machin has urged the public to donate whatever they can.

Machin said: “We have a long-standing relationship with Bluebell Wood and it’d be great if we could raise as much money as possible. Hopefully everyone gives as generously as they can.”
