SHEFFIELD’S Joe Haines has had an expensive week - but now he is hoping he can turn his luck around againstGlasgow at Owlerton tonight (7.45pm).

Haines received a late call-up to the British Final on Monday, so late he hadprepared the drinks for a night in watching the event on television, but the Bolton racer suffered a nightmare evening.

That nightmare culminated in a blown engine in his third ride, which made it a very costly outing for the Tigers number seven.

He said: “My bike stopped dead in my third race and the engine just went completely. That means a new engine.

“It will cost me around £3,500 to get a new one but I’m more worried about the matches this week. I’ll have something sorted out and I’ll just have to go out and get some points to pay for it!”

Tigers entertain a Glasgow side who dominated the Premier League last year, but have so far failed to replicate their title-winning form.

Sheffield are without number one Pepe Franc, who suffered an injury in a World Longtrack meeting on Saturday, so shift the rider replacement facility to number one and draft in Frenchman David Bellego to replace Emiliano Sanchez.

SHEFFIELD: Rider Replacement, David Bellego (G), Chris Schramm, Richard Hall, Ricky Wells, Hugh Skidmore, Joe Haines.

GLASGOW: Joe Screen, Mason Campton, Josh Grajczonek, Henning Bager, James Grieves, Charles Wright, TBC.
