RICHARD Hall is ‘honoured’ to take his place in a special meeting to raise funds for injured riders next weekend.

The Sheffield racer will be a Berwick on Saturday week for the Ben Fund Bonanza - a meeting which sees all profits going to the Speedway Riders Benevolent Fund.

It’s a cause which has helped many riders down the years and is offers assistance to riders who fall on hard times after being forced to quit through injury.

And Hall said: “None of us want to use the Ben Fund because when you do it means you’re injured and struggling financially. But it’s a great cause and I’m proud to be able to take my place in the meeting at Berwick. It’s nice and early in the season and it will be good to be back on a bike getting some competitive laps in.

“I like the Berwick track and I’ll go there to try and do well.

“We are all getting excited about the new season now. I’m looking forward to getting together with the Sheffield lads. Hopefully we’ll have a good season.”
