EMILIANO Sanchez could hold the key to Sheffield’s chances of success this season, says club owner Neil Machin.
The Argentinian has been brought back after spending last season out on loan to Redcar. And he’s being tipped to challenge for a place in the top three of the Tigers team as he remains a solid scorer at Premier League level.
Said Machin: “We’re delighted to welcome Emiliano back, he is a popular character and he enjoys riding here. As soon as we told him we were considering bringing him back to the club he jumped at the opportunity.
“He’s a solid scorer and he can be a matchwinner for us, make no mistake about that. We have seen him hit some big scores for us in his previous spell here in 2006 and 2007 and obviously we want to see consistency from him.”
Machin believes Sanchez will make him hungry for success. He’ll be back on track for the first time at the club’s practice day on Thursday (4.30pm) along with the rest of the 2011 Tigers.
Said Machin: “He’s ridden for a few clubs and was obviously successful with Hull, winning the treble with them. But he can help us win things this year and I know how determined he is to make it happen. He has always been disappointed when we have been unable to accommodate him since he was last with us so it’s a big season for him. He will be a key rider for us.”
