CALIFORNIAN racer Ricky Wells is hoping for a good spell of weather to launch the new season.
Wells has been back in the UK for almost three weeks but has yet to turn a wheel – and he has another week to wait before doing some laps at Owlerton. Tigers hold their practice session on March 21, and Wells simply can’t wait to get out there.
He said: “Sheffield are starting fairly late with our first meeting so I can’t wait to get on the track next Thursday. It will also be good to catch up with the guys. We have a new-look team and it will be nice to spend some time together.
“Sheffield’s track is unique. It’s big and fast and I want to ensure my bikes are set up right from the start. We need a run of good weather to ensure we get out there and hopefully we can help the new guys get lots of laps in. It’s a hard start for us against Birmingham on March 28 because they’re an Elite League club but I’m sure we will give it everything.
