TIGERS face up to Elite League stars when they face the USA Tourists at Owlerton tomorrow.

Coventry’s Ryan Fisher, who has enjoyed a fine season with the Brandon club, is joined by Wolverhampton’s Ricky Wells, who won a league winners medal when making a guest appearance for Poole on Monday. Sheffield chief Neil Machin says it’s a great way to bring the curtain down on an entertaining season of racing at the fastest track in British Speedway.

He said: “The Americans will arrive here with a powerhouse team. They have pieced together a side who are sure to revel in the wide open spaces of our track and it should be a great night. Fisher is good value wherever he goes and Ricky Wells rode superbly for Poole on their way to the league title on Monday.

“Kenny Ingalls has had a good season with Workington and they are sure to provide good entertainment. This is our final meeting of the season and we will have the traditional fireworks spectacular after the meeting.

“It also signals the last home meeting for Shane Parker who has been a revelation for us this season and I’m sure fans will want to show their appreciation.”

Sheffield’s joint National League side with Scunthorpe will need to re-arrange their Play-off semi-final for a third time after last night’s second leg was washed out at the Eddie Wright Raceway. It will need to be done within the next seven days. Mildenhall await the winners and Sheffield need to peg back a five-point deficit.
