JOSH Auty says his return to the saddle was a big success and he is raring to go for the second phase of Premier League fixtures.
Auty made his comeback from concussion and whiplash just a week after his crash in the cup tie with Workington at Owlerton.
He notched 13+1 in Sheffield’s bumper win over Rye House and has suffered no adverse reaction since. “I got doctor’s permission to return and I felt surprisingly good, I was determined to do well,” said Auty. “I’m looking forward to Thursday (Berwick) and my priority is to do a job for Sheffield and stay clear of injury. We go into the second stage of Premier League fixtures and feel confident after that win against Rye House because we were all in the points apart from Ashley Birks who had some problems. But there’s a good team spirit and we’re looking forward to the rest of the season.”
Auty has the number one racejacket for August after edging out Shane Parker and Ricky Ashworth and with the Premier League Riders’ Championship coming up in September he will be keen to stay top of the averages.
And Tigers will have Auty, Parker, Ashworth and Emiliano Sanchez in action this Sunday at Leicester for the Premier League Fours Championship.
