Sheffield boss Jack Lee believes their impressive home form will hold the key to their play-off bid over the second half of the Premier League season.
The determined Tigers have recovered from their injury troubles to get their season back on track with three consecutive victories.
Lee was delighted with another convincing all-around team performance on Thursday in the win over Workington as every rider recorded at least one race win. And he has called on them to maintain their excellent run around the fast, sweeping Owlerton circuit to ensure they keep their title dreams alive.
Said Lee: “It was a great win for the boys on Thursday. I thought Workington would run us a little closer to be honest, but our lads got stuck in early doors and didn’t really give them a chance to get back into the meeting.
“We are really happy with that result, and it keeps us well up in the play-off zone which is the main thing.
“Sheffield is a specialist track at the best of times, and all the lads are really pulling out the stops at home at the moment. They’re enjoying their racing on home territory. Any of them can go out and win a race, especially at home, so that is really positive.
“It was a good team performance, and we hope we can carry that on until the end of the season now.
“If we can keep riding like that every week and keep winning our home meetings then we should keep right in touch with the top four.
“On our day we believe we are capable of picking up our fair share of points on the road as well, so if we can keep our good home form up it should stand us in good stead.”
