JOE Haines is hoping a bit of inside knowledge can help Tigers start their league campaign with a win at Rye House tonight (7pm).
Haines spent a successful year at the Hertfordshire track in 2009 and he will know exactly what is required to score points around the tight Hoddesdon circuit.
He said: “I rode at Rye for a season and I know the score round there, it’s a hard track to master.
“I’m just looking forward to getting down there and scoring some points. Everyone in the side will have ridden there before, it won’t be too unfamiliar to any of the boys but if anyone needs any help then I’ll be more than happy to give some advice.”
Haines made an immediate impression amongst the Tigers faithful with an impressive seven points in the defeat to Elite League Belle Vue on Thursday, and he was pleased to get a good performance under his belt early on.
He said: “I felt a bit rusty early on but I got going by the end and I was pleased with seven.
“It makes a difference when you get a win in your first one and it boosted me for the rest of the night and gave me confidence.
“I’m hoping now that I can convert that seven points into 14 in the Premier League!”
