Robin Soderling claimed his third title of the year as he came from a set down to beat Marin Cilic in the final of the Open 13 in Marseille.

The top-seeded Swede, whose only defeat of 2011 came against Alexandr Dolgopolov in the Australian Open, lost the first set on a tie-break before taking the next two 6-3 to claim the title.

Croatia’s Cilic hit 16 aces to Soderling’s 12 but also double faulted five times.

Soderling, who converted five of eight break points, added to his successes this year in Brisbane and Rotterdam.

Liverpool’s Ken Skupski claimed his third doubles title on the ATP Tour yesterday after teaming up with Holland’s Robin Haase to land the Open 13 crown in Marseille.

Skupski, 27, and Haase beat French pair Julien Benneteau and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 6-3 6-7 (4/7) 13-11.

The 27-year-old Skupski also won in St Petersburg and in Metz in 2009 with Scotland’s Colin Fleming and they made the final in Eastbourne in 2010.

Top seed Caroline Wozniacki cruised past Svetlana Kuznetsova to claim her first title of 2011 at the WTA Dubai Championships.

The 20-year-old Dane, in her first final this year, had little trouble seeing off the 16th-seeded Russian 6-1 6-3.

Wozniacki has more cause for celebration today when she officially regains the world No 1 spot from Kim Clijsters.
