DONCASTER'S Mark Rowing won the EASB English Seniors Snooker Championship staged in Sheffield.
Rowing, the 1987 English Amateur Champion, defeated Colin Norton 6-4 at the World Snooker Academy at the city's English Institute of Sport.
Norton won the first frame after Rowing got back in it with a break of 46 and then the Doncaster man had late breaks of 20 and 29 in both the next two frames to win them.
He extended his lead to 4-1, which included a 39 break, but Norton hit form with breaks of 53, 32 and 52 and cut the deficit to 4-3 at which point the dranw-out affair had to be halted and resumed on an outside table later.
Rowing won a 50-minute eighth frame . After Norton cut the lead back to one frame, Rowing had a 45 break to secure the 10th frame and victory.
Both players will now be in line for selection for senior internationals next season.
Other finals: English Amateur Championship: Jimmy Robertson (Bexhill on Sea) defeated David Craggs (Tow Law) 9-8;.
Club Players Championship: Alex Dunkley beat Mike Faulkner 5-0. Under-19: Liam Highfield beat Stuart Carrington 8-3. U-16: Sam Cragie beat Tom Maxfield 6-3. U-14: Oliver Lines beat Darryl Hill 5-2.
English Team Championship: Manchester beat West Midlanders 5-3.
