DING Junhui has been handed a bye into the quarter-finals of the Bank of Beijing China Open.

The Sheffield-based Chinese cueman had been due to play Mark Selby in the last 16 in the Far East, but double Masters champion withdrew from the tournament suffering from a neck complaint.

And so former UK and Masters champion Ding will now play either Englishman Ali Carter or compatriot Lu Ning today with a semi-final place up for grabs.
