Sheffield women quite a hit

TWO women who train at Sheffield's English Institute of Sport were among the honours at the SKU British Open Karate championships at Ponds Forge, which attracted more than 250 competitors.

Hazel Pilgrim, of Millsands, central Sheffield, a 2nd dan black belt, was first in the Women's Kumite category, while first dan Danielle Ball of Norfolk Park was third.

Both train with Sensei Stan Knighton and are pictured above with their cups.
