The British Youth Champion signed for Tigers last week in a deal which will see him become a full club asset when he turns 16 in September. The Ossett racer says his nerves will be replaced by excitement when he rolls up to the tapes for his first ever ride in his new club’s colours.

He said: “I’d love to mark that moment by going out and winning my first race and hopefully that would be just the first of many wins for Sheffield!

“It’s going to be a special night for me and my family and it should be a good night for the fans too.

“Cradley have got some decent riders but I’ve shown already with Birmingham in the National League that I’m more than capable of beating them and hopefully I can do so again tonight. I’m more than happy with how things have been going in my first full season in the sport and I feel like I’ve learned so much already.”

Tonight’s Sheffield side will include 2016 reserves Arthur Sissis and Nathan Greaves who will be looking to make the most of some extra track time on their home circuit.

Up-and-coming rising star Jack Smith, son of former British Champion Andy, comes in at No.4 with National League competitors Chris Widman, Joe Lawlor and David Speight completing the select septet.

Cradley include local lad Max Clegg as well as former British Under-15 Champion Ashley Morris.

Admission has been reduced for tonight’s fixture with adults being admitted for £12 and concessions £10.

Season tickets will not be valid, however holders will receive a free programme and half price parking.

Any profits from the meeting will be put towards a new training track as well as current track maintenance.
