BAFNL Northern Premier Division American Football Club the Sheffield Predators – which recently announced it will change its name to Sheffield Giants from the 2017 season – is searching for a new head coach for its adult contact team next year.
At the end of the 2016 season head coach Richard ‘Grizz’ Batty will step down after five years to focus on academy development, developing young quarterbacks for the club, and pathways into the sport.
Anyone interested in the job should email the team’s general manager Toby Chesters at email@example.com.
Batty helped the team to the BAFANL Division Two title in 2012 – going unbeaten through the season – and was named coach of the year in the same year.
Batty is also head coach of American Football at Sheffield Hallam University.
“Grizz has been ‘Mr Football’ in Sheffield for a long time,” said Chesters. “We are all sad to see Richard leave the post, but his change of focus spells an exciting time ahead for young adults in Sheffield who want to get serious about the sport.
