Scot pays for early return

Have your say

Andy Murray says he may have returned to competitive action too soon after suffering a comprehensive first-round defeat at the World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam.

In his first match since losing to Novak Djokovic in the Australian Open final 11 days ago, Murray slumped to a 6-4 6-1 loss to Marcos Baghdatis on Wednesday.

“You have to get the balance right, making sure you come to the tournament mentally feeling you are ready to win it and maybe I didn’t feel like that,” admitted the Scot.
