INJURY hit Sheffield Tigers bolstered their line-up by taking three loan players from Rotherham Titans - and the move couldn’t have come at a better time.

Tigers travel to Preston Grasshoppers this weekend, the Lancashire side are two places ahead of Tigers, in fourth, in the National 2 North League.

The Dore Moor travellers will have Lawrence Peace, Ed Styles, Mike Donegan available for selection after their negotiations with Titans.

Tigers coach Ben Wade said: “This is not just good deal for Tigers, but as our two clubs work together it is helping develop these players within the South Yorkshire area.

“These are not short term loans, I handpicked the Titans players who will join us for a few months, integrating with the Tigers squad and they can only benefit from our coaching and playing competitive first XV rugby.”

Referring to the season so far (15 games, 9 wins, 6 losses) Wade said: “The players from both the first team and development have bonded well to create a fantastic squad on the field and off. All the players in the squad have worked very hard in training and on the pitch, Their commitment has made it a pleasure to be part of it”.
