Rotherham will always have a special place in Glen Kenworthy’s heart but the former Titans second-rower would love nothing more than to see them defeated in today’s Championship derby at Clifton Lane (2.30pm).

Both clubs go into the eagerly-awaited game in high spirits following excellent wins last weekend.

Unusually though it is third-placed Doncaster Knights who currently have the bragging rights when it comes to league positions – though only bonus points separates the two clubs.

Titans have proved hard to beat at Clifton Lane in recent years and have won their only home game this season, just pipping promoted Ealing.

“We went to the game and they are still trying to play the Blackett way, so that part of their game is still there,” said Kenworthy.

“They’ve still got a handy scrum and ex-Nottingham back-rower Tom Calladine is a really good player. He’s a handful.

“Having said that we’ve played well in our first three games and to get the better of big, well-drilled Jersey pack last week will obviously give the boys some confidence.

“We also did some dumb stuff at times as well but hopefully we’ve learned the lessons.

“Overall we’re happy with how we’ve started, carrying on from how we finished last season, and we’d certainly have taken 11 points from our first three games.

“Hopefully we can add to our tally even though we haven’t beaten Rotherham at home in the league for a few years.

“Likewise Nottingham. We hadn’t beaten them for four years in the league so having got that particular monkey off our backs hopefully we can do the same against Rotherham, who we should have beaten twice last season.”
