Rotherham Titans cannot be complacent

ROTHERHAM skipper Lee Blackett, who injured his leg during Sunday’s win at Nottingham, is likely to miss tomorrow’s home match against bottom club Jersey.

He is more hopeful of returning to the side for the clash at Plymouth Albion on Friday. His place in the centre will probably be taken by Garry Law. Following the excellent result and performance at Nottingham, Rotherham’s first league win, coach Andre Bester is expected to largely keep intact the side which won 27-16.

Bester likes to rotate his first team squad, so there could be the odd change.

With consecutive defeats by Cornish Pirates, Leeds Carnegie and Moseley, Jersey have still to pick up any league points and are firmly at the bottom with Doncaster Knights just above them.

However Rotherham would be foolish to show any complacency and provided Titans are patient, they should earn a winning bonus point.

Guided by Ben Harvey, one of the better English coaches at Championship level, Jersey have one familiar face in their team who is well known to Rotherham fans.

Back row forward Talite Vaioleti from Tonga, who played at Titans last season, has appeared in the opening league matches.
