Doncaster Knights began their pre-season schedule with a comprehensive ten-try win at National Three North outfit Hull RUFC.
Tyson Lewis and Latu Makaafi touched down twice, while trialist Harry Betts and new signing Will Hurrell were among the try scorers as Clive Griffiths’ men rounded off their three-day bonding trip to Hull in style.
Simon Humberstone also opened his Knights account with a conversion after just two minutes, following Lewis’s first score.
Doncaster dominated a match split into four 20-minute periods throughout and wasted no time at all in making their presence felt on the scoreboard.
The visitors’ early pressure saw Lewis round off a break from Mat Clark before Richard List crashed over from a driving lineout.
Hull’s best spell came in the second quarter but an excellent tackle from Dougie Flockhart kept the hosts at bay and at the other end Tyson and Ollie Stedman dotted down.
Winger Hurrell scored the pick of the second half tries when he broke several tackles to score on the hour mark.
Further tries came from Jarvis, Betts, Makaafi (2) and a penalty try as Hull had little answer to Knights’ Championship quality.
