Rotherham Titans coach Lee Blackett has made a late change to the side for the important Boxing Day clash in the Championship at Clifton Lane against Bedford.

The Newcastle Falcons’ fly half, Joel Hodgson, has been released by the Premiership club and returns on loan again and will appear in his third Championship game for Rotherham.

Hodgson has already played impressively for the Titans in league games against Plymouth and Bristol and his availability is seen as a big boost to Rotherham who need to beat Bedford to move up the Championship table after London Scottish grabbed second place.

Hodgson is widely regarded as one of the country’s best younger players and comes into the Rotherham side at the expense of Australian fly half Dallan Murphy.
