The Knights’ immediate return to the Championship can become ever more certain tomorrow but prop Richard List insists defeat of title-rivals Rosslyn Park will not be that easy.
One of their most important trips of the season awaits the Knights as they travel to the Rosslyn, who are currently seven points behind them in the SSE National League One table.
The two are runaway leaders in the division with Coventry 16 points behind Rosslyn, while victory for Doncaster would see their lead grow into double figures with three matches left.
However prop List is refusing to think about the benefits of a win tomorrow – adamant it will be their toughest match of the SSE National League One season yet.
“I know it gets said every week but we are taking each game as it comes, we are fully focused on this Saturday which would be the case regardless of who we were up against,” said List. “The aim Saturday is to get that win on the board. Rosslyn Park have a big dangerous pack, we do have a game plan going into Saturday’s game and our focus will be on executing that.
“But we are under no illusions about how tough it’ll be.”
Doncaster won the reverse fixture 24-17 back in late November and head to the capital unbeaten in seven matches.
The Knights saw off Old Albanians 25-10 last time out with prop List making his first start for the club since returning from French outfit Narbonne at the start of the month.
And List insists they can ill afford a single mistake against Rosslyn Park as they seek to move ever closer to securing the SSE National League One title before the final game of the season.
“It was a tough game last time out, we got ourselves into some good positions but at times we weren’t clinical enough especially in their 22,” he added.
“Credit to OAs, they disrupted us a lot meaning we couldn’t put our plans into full effect. We went well in the set against OAs, we kept it tight and were confident going into the game about the scrum.
“We did have one lapse in concentration on our line where they turned us over but we rectified that immediately afterwards.”
