A hat trick of tries from centre Dave Hankinson underpinned their seven-try win, which leaves them top by three points from rivals Morley.

After the home side kicked an early penalty, Hankinson scored on 13 minutes, with fly-half Jamie Lennard converting, before winger Josh Fowler raced in on 20 minutes.

Hankinson’s second try came on 24 minutes and helped them to a 13-17 lead at half time.

Barker’s second try came six minutes into the second half, and others came from Lennard, Barker’s second try and Hankinson’s third.

Wheatley Hills struggled to raise a team for the long journey to Alnwick.

With four or five regular first team players missing, it was a patched up side that turned out and the inexperience soon showed as they went 26-0 down by the break.

Alnwick went on to score another four tries to make it 50-0 at the final whistle.

Aidan Smith scored a hat trick as Thornensians took a comprehensive 35-12 victory at home to Baildon in Yorkshire Three.

The home side were well on top throughout and pressed home their advantage in the second half after leading 20-5 at the break. James Fenwick scored a brace of tries.

Johnny Richardson scored two tries as Rossington Hornets beat Knaresborough 19-0 in Yorkshire Five.

Starting the day just one point ahead of Knaresborough in the table, they never looked in trouble and scored three tries with Kai Wheatley converting two.
