Sheffield Eagles are out to spoil the party for unbeaten Championship leaders Leigh Centurions.

The Lancashire team come to Owlerton Stadium on Sunday (kick-off 2pm) chasing a club record of 15 straight wins.

Coach Mark Aston sees it as the test his team need to back up a battling win at Batley and create an upset.

“It’ll be a tough challenge for us, we got a bit of our mojo back last weekend.

“Defensively we were strong but there’s still a lot of work to do with the ball in hand,” he said.

“Sometimes you need a real tough encounter like we had at Batley, backed up by another challenging game – the lads will be up for it. Leigh are playing really well and asking a lot of questions.

“Having them at Owlerton is just what the doctor ordered on the back of last weekend’s win.”

Captain Mitch Stringer said: “There’s character in the team and we’ll be up for Leigh.”

Back row forward Will Hope and hooker James Davey are fit again, so opening up the selection options.
