SHEFFIELD Eagles have blown away the early season cobwebs and are ready for the top of the table clash with Featherstone Rovers.

After losing the opening game of the season the Eagles have put together a five-match winning run.

The game against unbeaten leaders Rovers is a re-run of last season’s Grand Final.

That’s got Mark Aston excited at pitting his wits against his former teammate and Rovers’ coach Daryl Powell on Thursday. “This is a game between two title challengers and after the Grand Final result we know Rovers will come fired up” said the Eagles boss. “I watched Fev at Keighley and they were outstanding, scoring 50-odd points. “They are on top of their game but so are. We went to Leigh for what we thought would be a close game and were outstanding.”
