Featherstone Rovers may have parted company with their coach but that’ll make them more dangerous, warns Sheffield Eagles boss Mark Aston.

John Bastian was a casualty of back-to-back defeats by Leigh, with assistant Danny Evans taking temporary charge at Owlerton Stadium tomorrow (kick-off 2pm).

“The players know a new coach is coming in and that can inspire a team - they’ll be out to make a point,” said Aston.

“We were good in the win at Crusaders last weekend but this is totally different, we’re playing one of the top teams in the competition. Fev have lost the last two and they will be tough.”

Back row forward Michael Knowles could return if he passes a late fitness test on the knee injury that has kept him out for three games.

Several first team squad players will also get game action this afternoon with either the Under-20s, or the Hallam Eagles reserves.
