Sheffield Eagles clinch victory in Halifax
Sheffield Eagles made it two wins on the spin at the weekend
Sheffield Eagles achieved a second consecutive victory in the Betfred Championship after a win away at Halifax last Friday.

Head coach Craig Lingard made two notable changes in anticipation of the fixture, with both Martyn Reilly and Kai Morgan returning to the squad.
The fixture began with a bang for the Eagles, when a Kieran Gill offload, and then a strong finish from Joe Brown brought the visitors ahead just four minutes into the match’s proceedings.
Despite being denied a try just moments after the Eagles’ first, Ryan Millar managed to get his scoring moment and brought his side ahead even further.
Halifax brought themselves back into the game when a strong kick to the corner found its way into Owen McCarron’s hands.
But, not long after, a penalty conversion scored by Jordan Abdull gave the Eagles some wiggle room in the dying minutes of the first half, before an overpowering try from Lewis Peachey sealed the deal just before the break.
Just minutes into the second half, Billy Walkley got his hands on the ball following an almost cloud-reaching kick from Jordan Abdull, which he then grounded for his first try of the evening.
Two consecutive tries from Halifax’s Ben Tibbs and Alfie Johnson brought the hosts back into the game, but a second try from Billy Walkley ensured that the Eagles came home with the two points.
Sheffield Eagles' next fixture will be a Betfred Championship clash at home, against the league-leading and undefeated London Broncos (Sunday, the 24th of May, 3pm KO).
