Jordan Abdull has signed a permanent deal with the Eagles after initially joining the club on a one-month loan two weeks ago. He made his debut against Salford R.L.F.C., scoring a try and receiving the Player of the Match award.

The 30-year-old has previous experience at the top level of rugby league, including more than 120 Betfred Super League appearances during spells with Hull F.C., Hull Kingston Rovers, London Broncos and Catalans Dragons. He has also represented England at international level.

Abdull did not feature in Sunday’s Betfred Championship fixture against his former club at the DCBL Stadium. However, he is expected to return to contention this weekend when the Eagles face Workington Town at the Fibrus Community Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 3pm.

Commenting on his permanent move, Abdull said,  “I’m happy to get it sorted. Widnes have allowed me to take this opportunity, so I’d like to thank them first and foremost.”

He also stated that, “Coming back this year was all about playing as much as I can, and Sheffield have given me that opportunity, something I’m grateful for.

“For the next couple of years, I’ll be trying my best to guide the team around the field, but in the short term, I’m really looking forward to building some connections with the team, and the fans too.”

For the remainder of the 2026 campaign, Abdull will be personally sponsored by Frankie (Midnite) Worrell.
