Hillsborough Hawks’ Under-11s triumphed 26-8 at Leeds Chapeltown Cougars, who had won two of their three games in the Yorkshire Junior League.

Hawks’ top-tackler, Ayden Hadfield scored two first-half tries and a third long-range effort in the second half.

Man-of-the-match Harrison Norman distributed efficiently from dummy half. Norman went on to score two second-half tries.

After strong tackling from Oscar Brown and Pota Arthan Dylan Horton went on a mesmerising run, avoiding tackles & setting up the next set of six tackles which led to Bradley Harrison’s crash-over try.

Jack Toner was one of the lads who showed a desire to take the ball up and set an example for his team-mates.

Under-12: Hawks were without several regulars in the 20-4 defeat at league leaders Methley Warriors despite a hard - working display.

After trailing 10-0 Hawks responded well with strong runs by Dale Swift and Corey Hall that, eventually, paved the way for Joseph Tipping to pull back four points.

Sheffield were still in the game for most of the second half. Will McNamee was excellent in both defence and attack, whilst Joe Littlewood worked hard to repel strong running by the Methley pack.
