Last weekend we ran a trip to Wembley for the Challenge Cup final - and what a great day out it was.
It is an awesome atmosphere as soon as you get near the stadium - all you see is rugby league shirts from every club.
I thought Leeds were hard done by on a few decisions from the man in the middle. They could not have done any more and need to take the heartache into the Play-offs where I feel they could be very dangerous.
When I arrived at Wembley Stadium I met up with one of the Dons’ favourite sons Tony Kemp, who is one of the top officials of the New Zealand Rugby League.
He is over here on business with the CEO of the NZRL they are checking everything out for the four nations series in October and the World Cup which is over here in 2013.
The Keepmoat Stadium have submitted a bid to stage matches so I am hoping to show him our wonderful stadium and the changes around Doncaster since he last played here.
Fingers crossed that he will be impressed and, you never know, we night persuade him this is the place for the current World Champs to reside.
This week end we play our last league fixture away at Gateshead. Our supporters have filled a coach which should make for great atmosphere. The boys want to finish on a high before going into the Play-offs so will be going all out for the win. Depending on the result and where we finish we are looking at having a fans meeting in the bar after our Play-off game so I will tell you more next week.
I want to wish my pal Jamie McDonnell all the best for his title fight against Stuart Hall which is live on Sky from the Dome on Saturday. Good luck champ - I’m sure you will do us all proud and we hope to see you at one of our Play-off games after you retain your belts.
