PETER Green is going ‘home’ at the weekend but he’s determined to spoil any welcoming party.
The former Doncaster forward is set to play his first game in a Sheffield Eagles’ shirt back at the Keepmoat Stadium.
“I hope I’m selected, it’ll be the first time I’ve been back as a player,” he said.
“It won’t be easy at the Keepmoat. Doncaster are really enthusiastic and they will get into us and it’ll be a real derby game.
“It will be interesting to go there (the Keepmoat) because the last couple of times in pre-season games I’ve not played.
“It’ll be good to return and do the job and get a result.”
The ultimate professional Green played nearly nine seasons for the Dons the switch across South Yorkshire in May 2009.
It was a big decision and for 80 minutes on Sunday family loyalties will be split with his father Ray the Dons’ commercial manager and mum Jackie in charge of club admin.
