Carl Hall wants to be wowed when Doncaster RLFC kick-off their pre-season preparations in the new year.

Paul Cooke’s new-look Dons squad returned to training this week.

And chief executive Hall is already looking forward to the club’s friendly fixtures, which he says will provide the perfect platform for some of the club’s newer faces to really catch the eye.

Hall said: “What we want is someonoe to wow us in the friendlies.

“We want one of the players to make us all look at us and think ‘wow, he goes all right’.

“The boys will all get an opportunity to do that, so we’re looking forward to those games.”

Doncaster announced their fourth and final pre-season friendly this week.

They will welcome Castleford Tigers to the Keepmoat Stadium on Sunday, January 18 (3pm).

The Dons will also host Hull FC (Jan 11), Hunslet (Jan 25) and Leeds Rhinos (Feb 1) before launching the new league season at London Broncos on February 15.

“The friendlies are vital for us,” said Hall.

“It’s paramount we have a look at everyone in those games. The squad’s big, so Cookey will have a look at everyone.”
