Paul Cooke has hailed last weekend’s sensational win over Leigh as one of the proudest moments of his career.
Dons became the first team to defeat the runaway Championship leaders this season, running out 24-16 winners.
Cooke, who missed the game through injury, said: “It was one of the proudest moments of my rugby league career to play a part in last weekend’s win, against easily the best team in our competition.
“Watching the full team sing our winning song was something I will never ever forget.
“Above everything the players deserve all the plaudits.
“We haven’t had a big turnover of players and we are a very tight group.
“Having stood back and observed from the sidelines last weekend, I am immensely proud to be a part of it.”
Dons host struggling Swinton Lions on Sunday.
“The players are very respectful of Swinton,” said Cooke.
“They know from our round 13 fixture that this game will be extremely tough.”
