Ronnie tops the menu at Society night

former Essex captain and England all-rounder Ronnie Irani, an outspoken figure in the game, is the guest speaker at Sheffield Cricket Lovers' Society's autumn dinner.

It is on Monday, October 29, at Baldwin's Omega and tickets are available from Sheffield CLS (01246 416145).

The MCC chief executive and secretary Keith Bradshaw is the society's next guest at Monday's meeting at Abbeydale Park (7.45).

This will be followed on Thursday, October 25, with a supper evening at which the guest speaker is Peter Baxter, recently retired as producer of Test Match Special and sure to have some interesting behind-the-scenes stories on the legendary radio commentary names.
