Rising stars bid for glory

BADMINTONSome of South Yorkshire's youngsters are aiming to net themselves glory at the Yorkshire Under-19 Open later this month.

The tournament at the English Institute of Sport on September 22 and 23, will feature 100 of the brightest young players on the England circuit.

The event will include boys and girls singles and doubles, as well as a mixed doubles competition, with total prize money standing at 500.

Sheffield's George Brown, Richard Collier, Andrew Kidger, Richard Morris, Paul Scott, Lauren Birch and Nicki Chan-Lam will all be bidding for glory.
