Plymouth Albion v Doncaster Knights: Let’s finish on a high, urges Glen Kenworthy

Knights go into the game in ninth place having beaten Bedford 25-19 at Castle Park.

“It wasn’t a great game of rugby and we should have scored more tries than we did,” said forwards’ coach Glen Kenworthy.

“But at the end of the day it was a win and it takes us above Bedford.”

Victory for the Knights over the relegated Devon club could see them sneak into the top eight at Jersey’s expense - but Kenworthy wouldn’t put much money on second bottom Moseley denying the Reds, espscially now the pressure is off.

It promises to be a rather sombre occasion for the home club.

But they can expect little sympathy from the likes of Kenworthy, given his experience of playing at Brickfields in Knights’ last game two years ago after they had been relegated the previous week.

“It’s payback time,” said the New Zealander.

“In any case the boys want to finish on a positive note.

“Whereas you normally only have to wait a week to try and get back to winning ways when you have lost during the season, you are talking several months after Saturday.

“If we win on Saturday that will be 16 wins in all competitions and 14 defeats.

“We’d have taken that at the start of the season.”
