US Open: Sheffield's Matt Fitzpatrick wins his first golf Major in dramatic fashion

Sheffield’s Matt Fitzpatrick has won his first major after becoming US Open champion at Brookline.

The 27 year old saw off Will Zalatoris and Scottie Scheffler by one shot to take the title, finishing on -6 for the week.

Fitzpatrick won the US Amateur crown on the same course back in 2013 and becomes only the second mens golfer to achieve such a feat, the other being the great Jack Nicklaus.
