The action gets underway at 12.30pm with the finale at 3.40pm. We have previewed all of the action with stats and analysis.

The £8,035 Beginners’ Chase at 1.35pm is one of the feature races on the card and the two and a half-mile event has attracted a small but select field of three runners. Talented hurdler Ballymoy (7/4) has failed to find fluency in three starts so far over fences, finishing runner-up on all three occasions. Having reverted to hurdles in his last four runs, connections have decided to go back over the larger obstacles and he would have a chance on his second to Nube Negra at Warwick over fences in October 2019.

Paul Nicholls has his string in fine fettle and saddles the favourite Stratagem who targets a first win over fences. He unseated rider last time out when a short-priced favourite in a two-runner event at Plumpton, but this talented hurdler is a definite player barring any mishaps. The three runners are completed by 13/2 chance Minella Trump who needs to improve dramatically from a disappointing fifth-placed effort at Doncaster in November.

The other contest worth £8,035 on the card is the Novices’ Handicap Chase at 2.40pm. The market for the 12-runner event over an extended three miles and two furlongs is headed by Shanty Alley (7/2) who seeks to back up an impressive 26-length win at Uttoxeter in December. He has been raised 11lb for that event and is a leading player.

Whatsdastory (6/1) was a solid third on her return to action at Southwell last month and should come on plenty for that run, whilst Garrane (6/1) seeks to back up a solid second at Plumpton on hus latest start.

Post War (10/1) is a fascinating contender for Nicky Henderson. He was well-beaten at Newbury on his reappearance, but he does boast winning form at the track having scored over hurdles at Town Moor in December 2016.

Elsewhere on the card, the £4,300 Maiden Hurdle (1.05pm) looks a fascinating event over two and a half-miles. Royal Pretender heads the market at 15/8 following two solid runs in defeat at Chepstow and Ascot over hurdles so far this season.

Broken Halo (2/1) runs in the colours of recent Relkeel Hurdle hero McFabulous and the £110,000 purchase has his first run for Paul Nicholls following a point-to-point win in April, 2019. Valsheda represents Nicky Henderson and is a brother to smart hurdler Asum. He makes his debut for the master of Seven Barrows in this event.
