The action gets underway at 1pm, with the finale at 4.17pm. Our pundit from bettingexpert.com/racing has previewed the pick of the action with stats and analysis.

The feature race of the day is the two-mile handicap chase at 2.05pm. Boasting a prize fund of £20,000, the contest has attracted a small but select field of five which is headed by top-weight Ibleo. Trained by Venetia Williams, the eight-year-old has enjoyed a fantastic season headlined by a fine victory at Sandown on his latest start under regular pilot Charlie Deutsch. Raised 7lb for that success, that may not be enough to stop him and he is open to plenty of improvement.

The Big Bite delivered in fine style on his first start for Henry Oliver when scoring by four lengths at Aintree in November. Given a break since, he boasts winning form over a longer trip at Doncaster and looks likely to give Ibleo the most to think about.

Whoshotthesheriff was a talented hurdler and he got off the mark at the second time of asking over fences at Carlisle in November. However, he disappointed at Newcastle in December and this looks like a retrieval mission. Lucy Wadham and Bryony Frost team up with the mare Little Light who was third on her reappearance at Fontwell, whilst the field is completed by Charmant who has been well-beaten in Listed company in two starts this term.

Listed action also takes place with the Juvenile Hurdle at 2.37pm. With a prize fund of £16,000 on offer, the two-mile event has attracted a field of seven runners. Top-weight Talking About You has turned a corner since wind surgery, backing up a victory at Ludlow in November with consecutive Listed victories at Aintree and Taunton respectively. This contest demands more once again, but she is a filly in form who may be capable of defying a penalty.

There are plenty of dangers headed by Progressive. Trained by Nicky Henderson, the four-year-old made the perfect start to life under Rules when scoring by two and a quarter-lengths over course and distance in December. That previous form at Town Moor will stand her in good stead and she looks a leading player.

Megan was formerly trained in Germany and made the perfect start to life for Stuart Edmunds when winning at Leicester in November. However, she has to turn around form with Talking About You on their Aintree run in which she was beaten by nine and three-quarter lengths on that occasion.

Her Indoors is another with prospects having chased home Talking About You on her first start over hurdles at Aintree in December. She has since gone onto finish second to a talented rival at Kempton over the Festive period and is open to more improvement.

Volkovka finished a narrow second at Taunton last time out, but will have to improve to feature here, as will Gilbertina who chased home Progressive at Doncaster last time out. The field is completed by Breadcrumbs, who was fourth to Progressive last time out.

Across the rest of the card, Sprinter Sacre’s half-brother Flinteur Sacre will target a first win over hurdles in the novices’ hurdles at 3.10pm over two miles. He was too keen when only fourth at Newbury last time out and there should be plenty of improvement to come following that effort.
