Tickets update for 2020 World Snooker Championship in Sheffield to be made

The tournament is due to take place at The Crucible between July 31 and August 16, having been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The World Snooker Tour (WST) has already confirmed the qualifying rounds will be held behind closed doors at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield from July 21-28.

But there have been no details on what form the main event will take.

The WST today said: “Please keep an eye on the WST website and social media this week for details on 2020 Betfred World Championship tickets.”

Last week it emerged that several players had withdrawn due to concerns over coronavirus and quarantine regulations, though none are believed to be among the top 16 ranked players who qualify automatically.
