The 15-year-old is a member of the Stephen Harrison Snooker Academy which runs snooker coaching sessions for young adults with disabilities in Sheffield.

But he had been unable to take part in online Zoom sessions because he had no access to broadband at his grandmother’s home where he and his mother were living during lockdown.

Ex-pro Harrison said: “Being able to adapt my academy to continue running during lockdown has been brilliant and I’m so thankful to Plusnet for helping Aidan take part from home. The team at Plusnet have gone above and beyond helping Aidan stay connected with his friends – it’s amazing what you can get done when you all work together.”

Aidan’s mother Natalie said: “We’re so thankful to Plusnet that he can now go on the internet to see his friends. He enjoys doing the snooker quizzes over Zoom with the Snooker academy. And he loves Steve’s daughter Katie’s dancercise sessions especially the party dances and taking part in the singing competitions.”

Sam Calvert, marketing director at Plusnet, said: “As a proud Sheffield-based company, we’re so pleased we were able to help support local initiatives. Teams from across the Plusnet business worked quickly to get Aidan’s internet up and running and ensure he could stay connected with his friends from the Snooker Academy.”
