Speedway: Sheffield confirm guest for vital Belle Vue clash
Tigers still need a point to secure play-offs place
Sheffield have drafted in a guest to fill in for injured Jack Holder in Monday’s important trip to Belle Vue, with the Tigers hoping to secure their play-offs place.
The Tigers still require a single league point to qualify for this year’s Rowe Motor Oil Premiership play-offs and have their fixture in Manchester on (September 14, 7.30pm).and their re-arranged home contest with Northampton on Wednesday (September 16, 7.30pm) to seal their place in the top four.
Just as he was scheduled to in the original rained off fixture on August Bank Holiday Monday, former Aces man Ben Cook will deputise for Sheffield at number one in place of the injured Jack Holder at Belle Vue.

Belle Vue have already confirmed their place at the top of the regular standings and are aiming to wrap up a 100 per cent home league record.
But the Tigers have been one of the few teams to run the Aces close on their own patch this term going down by just six and ten points on their two visits to the National Speedway Stadium so far.
Sheffield lead 47-43 on aggregate and team boss Simon Stead would like to see his side add to their tally against their Roses rivals.
“It would be nice if we could go to Belle Vue and get something - that would take a bit of pressure off our final home meeting on Wednesday,” Stead said.
“We’d obviously love to go there and end their home run just before the play-offs, but they’re a team full of confidence around their home track and we know we’ll need to be at our very best.
“We know we’ve got a job to do collectively and if all the lads can ride to their capabilities on the same night then there’s no reason why we can’t give them a real run for their money once again.”
Supporters with an active ticket for the original fixture do not need to take any action. Existing tickets will remain valid for Monday’s meeting, and fans can head straight to the turnstiles and scan their ticket as normal.
If you purchased a programme at the original event, you are advised to bring it with you; there will not be a new programme on Monday; however, new race cards have been printed and will be available.
