Speedway: Sheffield announce third rider for 2026 as 'delighted' Leon Flint confirmed for line-up
Sheffield’s latest signing says he is delighted, after confirming he will ride for the Tigers in 2026.
It has been confirmed tonight (Thursday January 1) that last season’s Rising Star Leon Flint will be back in the club’s colours, after a break-out season in 2025 which saw him finish the season in the main body of the team.
He is the third rider to have been announced by the Tigers for next season so far.

He said tonight: “I’m back with the Sheffield Tigers!
“After a great year in 2025 where I upped my average and moved out of the Rising Star position, I’m excited to be returning to Sheffield.
“Can’t wait to get back to work, build on last season, and see what we can achieve. Roll on the new season!”
Flint scored nearly 200 points last season, and will start next season on a reduced 5.05 average.

Team manager Simon Stead is backing him to continue a similar level of performances.
Stead said: “When we picked him as our Rising Star last season, I said then I expected 2025 to be the year he really began to show his potential in the Premiership.
“His performances were exceptional overall and it was great to see him grow in confidence week-by-week and achieve some personal milestones.
“The next challenge for Leon is to make sure he kicks on and performs consistently away from the No.7 berth and if he applies himself exactly the way he did last year, then I believe he’ll be absolutely fine.”
It means Jack Holder Anders Rowe, and Leon Flint are all now confirmed for the new season.
Meanwhile, speedway’s Annual General Meeting will finally take place next week on Tuesday (January 6) where the rules and regulations for 2026 will be rubber-stamped.
