It promises to be a classic War of the Roses clash with the Tru Plant Tigers holding a 100 per cent home league record and the Aces, arguably, the top flight’s in-form team.

In a bumper night of Premiership racing the Owlerton outfit could see their play off place confirmed with another home victory or if results elsewhere go their way.

The Tigers picked up a useful league point from their narrow defeat at Wolverhampton on Monday.

And whilst anticipating a keenly contested battle on Thursday Stead is hoping his riders can send out a message to the rest of the league against the Aces.

“I want the lads to take all the positives out of Monday and bring them into Thursday,” Stead said.

“I think it’s a really difficult meeting having not been at Owlerton too much lately but at the same time it should be a good test for us.

Belle Vue look as if they’re cementing their place towards the top of that league now and for me if we’re going to achieve what we want to achieve this year, then we’re going to have to beat them at some point soon.

“They are really tough opposition, they’ve got a 1-7 that hasn’t had too much disruption of late and they’re riding with plenty of belief it seems.

“But after Monday’s display, I have a new-found confidence in this group of lads racing for Sheffield and I’m really looking forward to these next few busy weeks.”
