The first race is at 12.05pm with the finale at 3.28pm. We have previewed all of the action with stats and analysis.

The feature race of the day is the £12,200 Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase over an extended two miles and three furlongs at 2.18pm. Top-weight Seddon has his first run for trainer Harry Whittington, having been pulled-up on his latest start for Tom George at Chepstow in October. He boasts plenty of smart form in his back catalogue, including a creditable seventh in the Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival in March 2019. His rivals include Minella Trump who shaped nicely when third on his comeback at Carlisle.

Corrany represents Nicky Henderson and is another to note having finished second over hurdles at the track last season. He makes his chasing debut in this event, but looks the type to improve for the switch to fences. Enrichssant was far from disgraced when fourth at Kempton earlier this month but needs to jump with greater fluency to play a leading role here, whilst Siannes Star, a good third at Wetherby last month is another with claims in a competitive event.

The £10,500 Handicap Hurdle (2.53pm) is another race to note with the classy Byron Flyer a leading player for Ian Williams. The nine-year-old ran with credit in Listed company at Ascot in October and is of interest along with Beach Break who recorded a facile success at Sedgefield in October.

Now Look At Me has his first run for Warren Greatrex, but needs to show he is over a fall at Newbury in December, 2019, whilst Demi Sang, third at Wetherby in November is another to consider if on a going day.

Amongst the rest of the action, Arthur’s Seat should be up to defying a penalty in the bumper finale at 3.28pm. The three-year-old was an emphatic winner at Huntingdon in September and looks an above average sort who looks capable of shouldering top-weight here.

There is plenty of other fascinating action across the other meetings on Saturday with one of the biggest staying handicap chases of the year, the Ladbrokes Trophy taking centre-stage at Newbury. Won by the likes of Denman in the past, the market is headed by the progressive Vinndication (6/1) who finished second in the Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby on his reappearance. Aye Right who was third in the same constest is a 7/1 chance along with The Conditional who has first run since winning the Ultima. Copperhead is a previous course and distance winner and makes appeal at 9/1 along with Cloth Cap (10/1) who is the selection od BettingExpert’s Stephen Harris. He shaped well on his reappearance at Cheltenham last month and looks sure to be suited by this stamina test.

Away from Newbury, Newcastle hosts its biggest race of the season, the G1 Fighting Fifth Hurdle. Reigning Champion Hurdle heroine Epatante carried all before her last season, culminating in that sumptuous success at the Cheltenham Festival and is the 8/13 favourite to make a winning reappearance. The dangers include Sceau Royal (5/1) who is unbeaten this term & ran out a ready winner of the Elite Hurdle at Wincanton last time out, whilst Kempton scorer Silver Streak (7/1) and recent Carlisle winner Ribble Valley (7/1) are others to note.
